Juweria Ibrahim | Ethiopia

Juweria had more than 10 years of experience in the project and human resources management sector. She was a business administration expert and deputy director at OWS Development Fund, a humanitarian organization focused on humanitarian responses and community development in the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia. Juweria also established a firm that advocates for girls' and women's rights and offered free classes on Somali and English writing skill development for women. She was committed to changing the lives of girls and women by advocating for education and empowerment through civic engagement. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Juweria wanted to use her leadership skills to influence religious and cultural leaders to empower women. More than her tremendous achievements, the Drexel family will remember Juweria as a courageous, inspiring, and kind leader, a devoted mother, and caring friend.  She was truly a beacon of justice, hope, and brightness in our cohort.
